Social and Emotional Learning Information
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is extremely important in the School District of Rhinelander. We realize that students cannot be successful in learning academics if they do not have the knowledge and skills they need to identify and regulate their emotions and to handle conflict with others in a safe and respectful way. Students receive a weekly SEL lesson. Lessons come from Zones of Regulation, Second Step, and Responsive Classroom. SEL is incorporated into class Morning Meetings and Closing Circles, which are based on the principles and practices of Responsive Classroom. These important lessons build positive classroom communities.
