Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a free online service that lets teachers and students easily share files with each other. Teachers can post assignments for students to complete and then grade them, all without having to print anything.
It also serves as a way of communicating. Teachers can post announcements and upcoming assignments, as well as email both students and their parents.
On a Device from Home
To sign in with Google on a device from home, your child will have to enter their full username, which is their 5/3 (first 5 letters of their last name and first 3 letters of their first name)@sdrschools.org.
Example: Michael Anderson - AnderMic@sdrschools.org
Then, Google will ask them for their password. They should enter the password they created or that was given to them by their teacher.
On a School-Issued Chromebook
On all school-issued Chromebooks, the District has it set so that students do not have to enter the "@sdrschools.org" part of their username. Therefore, students only have to enter the 5/3 part of their username. Then, it will bring them to the next screen where they will enter their password.
By logging in to the Chromebook, they are automatically logging in to their Google account. Therefore, when they need to "Sign in with Google" on other sites, it will only ask them to verify their account by selecting their name.
