Visit the Hodag Dome |
Entrance This is the main entrance.
Lobby
- This is where the only bathrooms are located.
- There will be another set of doors before you enter our lobby.
- There will be a small ramp leading into the lobby.
Entry There are two ways to enter the dome; the rotating/spinning door or the double doors. |
Desk
- This is the lobby.
- Dome staff will greet you, and you may have to check in at the desk.
Rotating Door
- The rotating/spinning door will only move as fast as you push it; it is not automatic.
- You will step inside and push the door towards the right as you walk.
- One person at a time is best, but you can bring a friend if necessary.
- It makes a noise as you push, and your ears might feel the pressure difference between the lobby and the dome. Sometimes plugging your ears helps. It does not hurt.

Double Doors
- Dome staff will help you through the double doors, if you choose.
- It is very important that only one door is open at a time.
- Dome staff will open the door, you will move inside, and the door will close behind you.
- The next door will open, and you will move inside the dome.
- The doors can be loud, but not always.

Inside the Dome
- There will be a slight ramp down as you move inside.
- It is a little brighter in the dome, and you might hear noises from the doors behind you, as well as from people inside playing.
- At the bottom of the ramp, you will move onto a rubbery, slightly softer track.
Inside the Dome - Continued
- You can continue straight on the track or move onto the green turf. Watch your step at the transitions.
- There will be a black net separating the track and the turf, with openings to cross between the two.
- The turf feels similar to walking on grass, but it is artificial.
- You may notice tiny black rubber pellets in the turf (and sometimes inside your shoe), that helps it stand up like grass.
Dome Noise
- The dome can be loud and it sometimes echos.
- You might hear others playing, the fans circulating the air, or pickleballs bouncing on the court.

Dome Lighting It is a bright space with lighting and natural sunlight during the day. |
Exiting the Dome When it is time to leave, you will exit through the rotating/spinning door or the double doors just like you entered. |
