Rhinelander Area Local Scholarships

An informational meeting for all Senior students, regarding our local scholarship process, will be held on both Tuesday, January 26th and Thursday, January 28th, during the Flex period.  A recorded version will be available for virtual students.  The applications for local scholarships will be activated on January 28th, 2021 and will close on February 25th, 2021.  A couple of things that may be needed prior to the start of the scholarship process opening up are the following:

A requirement to apply for scholarships is that you have been accepted and plan to attend an accredited college/university during the 2021/2022 school year by the time you hand in your application.

Also, Some scholarships consider financial need. If you wish to be eligible for these scholarships you must complete your FAFSA.  Here is the link to get started:   Apply for Student Aid - FAFSA

The 2021 Scholarship Award Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 16th.

Also, check out the Rhinelander Area Scholarship Foundation

Non Local Scholarships

There are non local scholarships that have their own criteria and have various deadlines throughout the year. Organizations send their criteria and application information to Rhinelander High School during various times during the school year. The only non local scholarships posted are those that are from non profit organizations.

Please note: At times a donor/organization may change their deadline and we are not made aware of this change. It is recommended that you click on the link and confirm the deadline before proceeding with the application.

Helpful Tips:
  • Read the criteria to ensure you are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Pay close attention to the scholarship deadline(s) as these are firm.
  • Follow directions very carefully. Most committees will disregard your application if you are missing application materials and will not notify you if your application is incomplete.
  • Submit a neat (preferably typed), proofread, and complete application without grammatical errors!
  • Showcase your skills, strengths, and achievements.  Don't be afraid to "toot your horn!" Your application is what the scholarship committee reviews carefully to evaluate you.
