PBIS Pelican Parent Survey  questions answered by Pelican students.

What students use the calming room?

Sawyer Schmidt (3rd grade),  “Kids that need a break or are sent down on red for not following the 4 Be’s.“

Alex Marvin (3rd grade), “Kids take sensory breaks for 5 minutes, 2 times a day.  It helps kids make good

choices.”

Who decides when it is time to go to the calming room?

Alex, “ Sometimes the kid and sometimes the teacher decides.  The teacher won’t let me come down when she is teaching.”

What does a sensory break look like ?

Alex , “Kids can quietly play with sand, Legos, magnet tiles or Play Dough.”

Morning Drop  Off

7:35-8:05 a.m. is bus drop off  time in front of  the school.  For students’ safety, parents are asked to use the parent parking lot and avoid driving in front of  the school during this hectic  time.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

The parent advisory committee meets  every month in the Pelican Library at 3:15-4:00.

Parents, feel free to bring your children to the meetings .  They can read,  work on a computer or play a board game.  Next year we will need new officers.  Please come to a meeting and find out how you can help or call Rebecca Morien at   715-581-5471 .    

The PAC  this year raised:

Fundraiser results from the fall=$5,915.90

Boxtops  collection=$4, 026.10

All proceeds are used for Pelican Students.   Each grade level is budgeted  $1,000 for fieldtrips .  

Scholastic Book Fair-March 2-6 in the school gym.      Spring Pictures March 11 and 12.

Exceeding Expectations

Pelican Elementary School received a score of 76.1 on the state report card. This means the school is exceeding expectations in reading, math and the absenteeism rate.
