Our district uses an online assessment, TRAILS, to target a variety of information literacy skills based on third, sixth and ninth grade standards. The assessment items are based on American Association of School Librarians’ Information Power and the Ohio Academic Content Standards. This tool helps our teachers and library media specialists to identify strengths and weaknesses in the information-seeking skills of their students. This information also helps us update our rotating three-year Information (Library Media) and Technology Long Range Plan (pdf), which is jointly authored with the district Technology Department staff.
