2011-2012 Staff Professional Development has been developed based on staff surveys conducted in spring 2011, district initiatives and streamlined through collaboration.  JWMS staff will develop SMART goals to gauge progress on initiatives.

• Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
• Math - alignment of new standards with instructional and assessment techniques
• Science - hands-on engagement in a new laboratory setting
• Social Studies & Language Arts - project based learning in new project lab setting
• Progress Monitoring

In doing so, staff will balance research-based best practices, personal intuition, and district data to incorporate systematic, proven approaches to students attain success in accordance with district goals.
