Low Balances and Notification

Automated Lunch Accounting System
The Board uses an automated school food service accounting system to record payments and sales. The system functions as a debit system, similar to a checking account. There must be money in the family account in order to serve the student in the lunch line. Parents/guardians are expected to maintain their lunch account in a positive balance. Click here for School Meal Balances

Parents/guardians who believe that the financial condition of their families is such that they cannot afford to pay for the cost of their child's meals shall be encouraged to make written application for free or reduced meals in accordance with the National School Lunch Act guidelines. These applications can be obtained through the office of the Director of Business Services.

Online Payments

The School District of Rhinelander uses e-Funds for Schools to allow parents to make electronic payments. Payments made by 7:00 am will arrive in time for lunch.

  • Click on the eFunds payment link
  • New users need to set up an account using your student id or family id
  • Returning users need a user name and password
  • Be sure to specify if the payment is for LUNCH or SCHOOL FEES
  • You will receive a confirmation email from e-Funds when completed.

NSF Checks

There is a $30 charge for NSF checks.

Collection Policy

The Director of Business Services shall be expected to protect the taxpayers of the District by making a reasonable effort to collect all food service charges due the District. The Board authorizes the Director of Business Services to collect food service charges which are sixty (60) days delinquent through legal means including but not limited to small claims court or through the services of a collection agency. (Policy 6155)
