Getting Started Using Voicethread and Class Projects

What is Voicethread?  It is an online media album that can

*  hold any type of media (images, documents and videos) and
*  allows people to make comments in 5 different ways - using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file, or video (with a    webcam)
*  and share with anyone you wish.

A VoiceThread allows group conversations to be collected and shared in one place, from anywhere in the world.

Getting organized to use Voicethread for online conversations

*  Create a folder to store your images.
*  Open a word processor and gather/type your explanations, analysis or comments.

Topic selection

  • Use your class guidelines and handouts

Locating images

  • When you find a useful image, save it in your folder AND paste it in your word processor table source list.  Add the url and source info.
  • Use Creative Commons to find images tagged with usage rights.  You will need an override from a teacher to lift the RHS filtering software.  url: http://search.creativecommons.org/?noBeta=1#
